Havaldar Lalik Jan(NISHAN-E-HAIDER) 

Havaldar Lalik Jan shaahed was born in Yasin, in the Ghizer District, of northern areas of Pakistan (now called Gilgit Baltistan). After school he joint the Pakistan Army and reached the rank of Havaldar.He is the first person form northern areas of Gilgit Ghizer area to achieve the high medallion in the Pakistan Army i.e Nishan-e-haider which is only given those gallant soldier who have done wonderful   work for the country. Lalik jan sacrificed his life in fighting against the Indian Army. It is said that which he was fighting with his troop; his whole fellow soldiers were being killed by Indian Army and he was left alone to fight.even in this situation, he didn't getup; but fight bravely, single handed and killed almost 200 enemy soldier. Even more daring when he attached a bomb with his body and laid down in the middle of the bridge through which the enemies were to cross to captured the Pakistani territory in this way the bridge was destroyed and the enemies were failed to captured the Pakistani territory. It is said that not even a piece of flesh could be found. He is really one of the heroes of Pakistan and we need many more to save this country Pakistan. For this act he was rewarded the highest award "NISHAN-E-HAIDER"
